Alcano Wins the World 8-ball Pool Championships

Two Filipino’s, sharing the same hotel room in Fujairah, began the evening sharing the stage and in quest of a single trophy. Current World 9-ball Champion Ronnie Alcano and his roommate Dennis Orcollo are the best of friends, and it must be said that this friendship extends even into the playing arena. They cheered one another’s good shots and smiled as their opponent pocketed each eight ball.

Gotham Billiards in Bergen, NJ, played host to the March 3-4 stop of the Blaze 9-ball Tour. Out of a field of 45 top Northeastern players, Matt Krah won the tour’s fifth stop with a hill-hill victory over Tony Rodriquez.
