Nick Conner Captures THIRD Omega Billiards Tour Title

On the weekend of October 4-5,Nick Conner dominated the field of 75 players undefeated and won first place again on the Omega Billiards Tour!  Speed’s Billiards in Arlington, TX was the amazing host for the event and everyone had a great time watching and playing good pool all weekend.  This was the 7th stop of the Omega Billiards Tour this year and $1,500 was added again to the prize fund.

Nick Conner won two previous stops in September and June, with a 2nd place finish in August.  So, with October’s first place win, Nick has sealed the top of the Predator Player Points Tracker for the end of the year Rankings!  Congrat’s to Nick Conner for being the Omega Billiards Tour 2014 Tour Champion!!

After a first round bye, Nick defeated Richard Parilla 7-3, Doug Winnett 7-4, and Chad Walker 7-2 to last until Sunday.  On Sunday at noon, Nick defeated Chase Rudder 7-2 then a determined Jesse Hernandez 7-4.  Nick then met up in the hotseat against last year’sTour Champ Tony Sulsar and Nick won hill-hill to see who he would face in the finals.

It was really no surprise to anyone when Tony defeated Frankie Juarbe 8-3 to get a rematch with Nick in the finals.  These were two finalists at the September stop as well.  The final match went back and forth until Nick came out on top 7-5!

For their outstanding finishes all year, the handicaps for both Nick and Tony will be moving up as of November.

Nick collected $925 for first place, Tony collected $530.  Frankie Juarbe had his best finish yet with an impressive 3rd place and earned $400.  Always-tough Jesse Hernandez placed 4th and earned $320.  Fifth and Sixth places were filled by August winner Barry Emerson and Tommy Ulbik (hishighest finish also) and 7th/8th places were filled by Robin Barbour and Chad Walker (another highest finish!).

The whole tournamentwas a great display of talent!  Congratulations to ALL of the players for their fine play and great finishes!

The Predator Player Tracker is in now complete (this was the final regular season event, with only the Season Finale left for the year).  The top three players will win a plethora of awesomePredator Prizes!  Congrats toNick Conner who is the Tour Champion, Tony Sulsar finished the season ranked 2nd, andCrispian Ng filled out the top 3rd place spot!  Further, fourth through ninth places at the end of the year rankings each received a free entry into the 2015 BCAPL Nationals!  Those players are:   Barry Emerson, Daniel Herring, Mike Voelkering, Jeff Franklin, Jack Lynch and Steve Raynes.

The eighthstop of the Omega Billiards Tour will be held at Rusty’sBilliards in Arlington, Texas November 8-9, 2014.This is the Season Finale and each player that played in three events is automatically eligible for the AT-LEAST $3,500 GUARNETTED tournament.  That means 90 players!!  Pool is alive and thriving in Texas!!
