Quin Y. Chen and Duddy collided twice at the March 3 stop of the Tri-State Tour, both times with Chen coming out the winner and, in the last, earning the title.

Duddy eked out a hill-hill win over Steve Way in the winners’ side final four to advance to the hot seat match, where she faced Chen for the first time. Chen, who had just defeated William Zarzour 6-2, squeaked past Duddy 7-6.

On the west side, Zarzour was soon eliminated in fifth place by Michael Rodriques 6-4. Tying with Zarzour was Way after being bested by Joe Palone 7-5. Rodriques went on to oust Palone in fourth place with a 7-5 win.

In the semifinal match, it was another hill-hill victory for Duddy as she bested Rodriques 7-6 for the right to face off with Chen again. However, Chen was well prepared and turned Duddy away again, this time 7-5.
