The ladies came out to Castle Billiards in East Rutherford, NJ, in full force to vie for cash and one of their remaining chances to qualify for a WPBA event in a single tournament on May 23-24. Out of 39 ladies who traveled from as far as North Carolina, Pam Cimarelli came out number one, earning herself $750, while Rhio Flores nabbed the entry to WPBA’s Great Lakes Classic.

Strong play put Rhio Flores, Megan Smith, Borana Andoni, and Pam Cimarelli in the final four on the ladies’ side. Smith knocked Flores west with a score of 7-4, while Cimarelli sent Andoni over to follow with a score of 7-5.

On the one-loss side, Holly Sholes had a strong 7-2 victory over Katie Cowan, while tour points leader My-Hanh Lac won 7-5 over 13-year-old Brianna Miller. Holly then fell to Flores 7-5, while Andoni fell to Lac by the same score. Lac went on to solid 7-2 win over Flores, putting her in fourth place, worth $250 plus the coveted qualifier spot.

It was a fairly tight match between Cimarelli and Smith as they fought for the hot seat, but Cimarelli topped Smith 7-5, sending her to the left side of the bracket to meet up with Lac, who took the match hill-hill but couldn’t mark up the last game.
